A website refresh that fits twelve years of weddings, a 170-year-old farmhouse, and the historic-and-romantic direction Bolder set in 2019. It elevates the design, makes the site easier to maintain, and turns it into a real front door for everything Wren Farm has become.
Wren Farm is the kind of place I'd want my friends to get married. You've earned every one of those twelve years in person: the barn, the field, the peonies, the Champaign County backdrop, the calm of a place that knows what it's doing. The site hasn't kept pace with the venue.
You said the site "just feels not elevated." The bones are too good for that to be true. You have the story, the photos, the awards, the years. This proposal is about making the site do the same lifting the venue does, without complicating your life or asking you to learn new software.
"I just want to take what we have and improve it, elevate it a little bit, and then see if there's more we can do."
Elizabeth, May 28That's what's below. Two paths to launch by mid-June. One keeps you on Squarespace at a lower price with the design limited by the platform. The other is a custom build on my hosting, where the design has no platform constraints and you never log into Squarespace to manage the site again.
Your wren-farm.com domain stays in your name. Your @wren-farm.com emails stay where they are, yours and your coordinators'. The domain stays registered with Squarespace either way. Nothing about how you and your team run the day-to-day changes. All we're doing is refreshing the front door.
Before pricing a thing, I want to make sure I caught what you said. If any of this is off, we fix it before a dollar moves.
Every project I take on follows the same arc. The two mockup directions you saw on our call are step one, already done. Below is everything from there to launch.
Two senior designers in Philadelphia support the production work. Every conversation, every decision, every revision still routes through me. One direct line, by phone, text, or email.
Nothing happens all at once, and nothing happens without your sign-off. You see every step before it's locked in.
Thirty minutes, in person if you want. I'll drive to Mechanicsburg or we can meet in Urbana for coffee. I'll come with questions; you bring the Bolder brochures, your favorite photos, and your honest reactions. We talk fonts, what you want couples to feel in the first three seconds, what the brochures said that the site never captured, and what's a hard no. By the end, the brief is locked in.
This is the fast track. If you'd rather pace it through July or August, the same plan stretches cleanly. Your call on tempo.
The simpler path. The site stays on Squarespace. You keep paying Squarespace the same monthly fee you pay now. I refresh the design within the platform's blocks and templates, which means the result is meaningfully better than today but won't match every detail of the mockups you saw on our call. Squarespace puts some guardrails on layout, animation, and the calendar that custom code can step past.
Scope is capped at 5 pages on this path. We'll be deliberate about which pages earn the space (homepage, about, gallery, flowers, availability is the natural lineup) and fold things like Vendors, Testimonials, and FAQs into sections on those pages instead of standalone pages.
Best fit if you want to keep this tight on cost, stay on a platform you already know, and reserve budget for what you might want later.
Same mid-June launch as Option B. Squarespace stays your platform, so you keep the login and billing relationship you already have. 50% deposit to lock the build slot, 50% on 110% satisfaction. No contract, handshake basis.
The version of the site you saw in the mockups, built off-platform with no template constraints. A minimum 10-page website that includes the main pages plus supporting location pages for the towns around Mechanicsburg (Marysville, Plain City, Dublin, Hilliard, Columbus) and dedicated service pages for weddings, smaller events, and flowers. All wired with proper schema markup so search engines understand exactly what you are and where you serve, which puts you in front of the Columbus-area searches from day one.
I host it on my infrastructure, which covers hosting, security, plugin upkeep, routine maintenance, and unlimited site edits (any change you want is an email to me, turned around within 48 hours). Sub-second load times. SEO-optimized from the day it goes live. You never log into Squarespace to manage the site again, and you stop paying Squarespace for the website portion of your current plan. Domain registration and your @wren-farm.com emails stay exactly where they are.
Everything in Option A, plus a fully custom design with no platform constraints, a 10+ page site with supporting location and service pages, a smart booking-tied calendar built as custom scope, SEO and schema baked in from day one, sub-second load speed, and unlimited edits via email turned around within 48 hours. Hosting, maintenance, and security all rolled into the monthly.
Before anything goes live or gets shipped, it comes to you for sign-off. Homepage layout, fonts, photos, every page, every change post-launch. Nothing publishes without you saying go. The 110% satisfaction structure runs through every decision, not just final payment.
Most of what you pay Squarespace today covers website hosting and the platform itself. With Option B, your website hosting moves to me, and you keep Squarespace only for the parts that handle your domain and email (a much smaller plan). Net cost is similar, you stop juggling logins and updates, and you get unlimited site edits within 48 hours, just send me an email.
Same mid-June launch either way. Both options include the keyword and competitor audit, the 1:1 interview, direct access to me throughout, and the 110% satisfaction structure: the second payment lands only when you're fully happy.
$1,500 off either build. A real local rate, not a coupon. Already baked into the totals below.
A 50% deposit locks your build slot. The other 50% lands when you're 110% satisfied across every font, photo, and section. No contract. Handshake basis. If something goes wrong, we fix it.
Your domain stays in your name in both options. Your @wren-farm.com emails stay where they are. If at any point you want to take the keys and run things yourself, you keep everything that was built.
Where the website is the front door, this is the engine that brings couples to it. Each month I do the local-search work that puts your venue in front of couples looking for venues like yours: mapping where your real customers come from, studying competing venues across 250+ ranking factors each week, refining your Google Business Profile by hand, building location pages for nearby towns, publishing monthly blog content and posts to Google, Facebook, and Instagram, responding to reviews carefully, and keeping your Google Q&A current.
The kind of work agencies charge $1,500+/month for, designed to compound month over month. It puts Wren Farm in front of every wedding-venue search that matters in the Columbus metro, and keeps you there.
Most local-SEO tools draw an arbitrary circle around a venue. The work here starts by mapping your actual drive-time trade area, finding every real wedding-venue competitor inside it, and reverse-engineering what they're doing right across 250+ ranking factors. Every week.
Patent-pending drive-time mapping defines where your couples really come from, so we target the searches and competitors that actually matter.
Each week I rebuild the map for your top wedding-venue searches, look at every competing venue in your real trade area, and apply what's working for them.
Description, services, categories, photos, and posts kept current. I treat your profile like a living asset, refining it constantly based on what couples are searching for. Listing locked against unauthorized changes.
Regular posts each month covering events, peony season, real weddings, and announcements. Facebook and Instagram index in Google search, so it's another ranking surface.
We work with what you already have. Your existing wedding photo and video library, plus fresh material from each new wedding, goes into the content rotation so every post looks like Wren Farm.
Written landing pages for neighborhoods, suburbs, and surrounding cities. Each one targets a specific local search and routes it back to you.
Regular wedding-venue blog content published to your site. Builds topical authority in Google's eyes without you having to write a word.
I monitor and answer Google's "Questions and Answers" section for your profile, which improves profile completeness and ranking strength.
Substantive, 1,000-1,500 character responses to every review (1-star and up), written carefully. Builds reputation, signals to Google you're active, lifts ranking.
Responses written aware of Google's removal requirements, with the grounds for disputing each bad review pre-noted. Makes removal far easier.
A funnel that helps happy couples leave reviews. Plus a QR code you can drop into thank-you cards or after-wedding follow-ups.
Your rankings tracked across Google Desktop, Google Mobile, Bing Desktop, and Bing Mobile. Local and organic, side by side.
Visibility, average rank, review counts, photo counts. Every venue in your trade area, head-to-head. Shows you where the gaps are.
Titles, meta descriptions, image compression, Local Business and Event Venue schema kept refined on your site. Compounds with Option B.
Comprehensive monthly report on the 6th. Weekly insight report. You always know what's moving, what isn't, and what we're doing about it.
The build gets you ranking from day one. The engine is what keeps you there once other venues notice and start chasing the same searches. You don't have to decide today. Try it for 30 days and see what it actually can do for your rankings, then keep it when you want to own the Columbus-area wedding-venue searches instead of sharing them. At $449 it's $400 off the usual $849, cancel anytime, separate from the build.
Each one is independent. Pick what fits, skip what doesn't.
For Option A only. You never log in. Photo swaps, copy edits, plugin updates, calendar refreshes, seasonal updates. Send an email, done in 24 hours. (Already included in Option B.)
First month on the house · Cancel anytimeLocal 937 number. Auto-text reply when you miss a call: "This is Elizabeth from Wren Farm, sorry I missed you, how can I help?" After-hours messaging, voicemail-to-text. Your cell stays your cell.
Setup waivedThe Bolder brochures you mentioned. The copy is strong but never made it online. I'll review them, refine the strongest pieces for web, and weave them into the new site where they belong.
Your old coordinator ran it beautifully, then it lapsed. When the site is live and you're ready, I'll put a Phase 2 plan together: content cadence, peony-season campaigns, the works. Only if and when you want it.
No commitmentOne sentence is enough. "Let's do Option B," or "Can we hop on a quick call?" and I'll set up a 30-minute walkthrough. I can drive to Mechanicsburg, meet you in Urbana for coffee, or hop on Google Meet, whichever's easiest. Mockup link to follow by text.
Text or call · 937-896-3225Twelve years of weddings is a long time, and you've earned every one of them. The honest read is that the site hasn't kept pace with the venue. That's fixable without starting over. I'd love to help you close the gap, especially given the connection through my mom.
